Too many signs mar entrance to town | Letter to the editor - Port Townsend Leader

In parts of rural America, roadside litter must seem decorative. 

Approaching Port Townsend it’s all kinds of signs. 

They’re proliferating, desecrating the scenery as one approaches on Highway 20. One — saying something about a ball team — is perfectly placed to distract drivers entering a roundabout, exactly in the wrong place, where drivers better be paying attention to traffic.

May the road sign enthusiasts here please think about the effect of all that clutter and the safety it endangers competing for drivers’ attention.
