WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) - The weekend's warmer weather allowed people to get out of their homes and enjoy the sun.
Many people enjoyed leisure activities or checking off a To-Do list. One of the many thoughts among many was giving the car a good wash.
At the Miracle Car Wash in Waterloo, they've washed around 500 cars since Friday. Owner Rod Rettenmeier says warm spirits came with the weather.
"Everybody is in good attitudes, customers are all friendly, I mean they are just happy the sun is out for a change," says Rettenmeier.
Despite a winter storm expected for Monday night, many cars are still getting a good rinse.
"Some people do avoid the wash if they know the storm is coming the next day, but with the salt and sand on the cars they'll want to layer off before the next storm comes because you do have a big investment in your car so, you do want to take care of it," says Rettenmeier.
Terry who just got her car washed, shares that mindset.
"It's beautiful and it's going to get cold again, but we'll stay in the house and get groceries," says Terry.
While it's warm, many were also on the ice trying for the perfect catch. Jacob had a few bites on the day, but is just happy to feel the warmth of the sun.
"Get out while you can, walk your dog or do some jogging, enjoy the weather somehow," says Jacob.
